Play and Learn – Odd and Even Properties Game
This printable board game is the perfect addition to your math rotations when learning about odd and even properties with your students. This resource has been thoughtfully created and designed by a teacher to help children practice identifying odd or even results of sums using their knowledge of odd and even properties.
In this game, students will need counters and dice. Once they roll their dice, they move forward on the game board; in the box, they land on, they must identify if the result of that sum will be odd or even and then place a counter over the answer in the middle. The first player to get 4 in a row horizontally wins!!
What Are Odd and Even Properties?
We’re glad you asked! Here are some of the odd and even number properties you might like to teach your students:
Odd Numbers
- An odd number is a number that can’t be divided into equal groups.
- When you try to share an odd number of things between two people, there will always be one left over.
- For example, if you have three cookies and you want to share them with your friend, one cookie will be left with you after sharing.
Even Numbers
- An even number is a number that can be divided evenly into two equal groups.
- When you share an even number of things among two people, they will get the same amount without anything left over.
- For example, if you have four marbles and you want to give two marbles to each of your friends, you can do that without any marbles being left.
