A STEM project embedded in a real-world context.

This STEM project allows students to learn through designing their very own theme park.

In this project, the students have been given $50,000,000 to plan and create a fun and exciting theme park. Using the theme park catalog, a set of criteria, and a few templates provided in the resource, students must complete a budget sheet and create a map on isometric dot paper.

During the project, students will be required to make decisions about rides, park attractions, types of accommodation, and even food venues. They will then need to modify these according to their budget and the area and layout of their park.

This teaching resource includes:

  • a detailed, step-by-step description of the project for the students
  • a project rubric
  • a Theme Park Catalog
  • a budget sheet
  • isometric dot paper
  • theme park map templates
  • an extension activity

We have included a separate download that includes a set of the map templates needed for this project.
